Unconventional and as fragile as ever (Luminous Dash)
A shared love of alternative guitar music has driven Pilod, a
quirky quartet from Leuven (BE), to make music since 2013. Pilod's
songs have always originated intuitively. Sketches from jams that
organically sculpted themselves into songs. Where the original
tracks reference nineties guitars, a decade of playing together,
touring and line-up changes have made the band into who they have
become today: groovy, dynamic, and eclectic, going wherever
inspiration takes them.
In June 2022, Pilod launched a new single out into the world. The
strikingly positive message ‘The Future looks bright’ offers a
counterbalance to the negative news in these gloomy times. ‘Have
faith in your own power’ sounds, in driving tones, at the end of
the song. We have our future in our own hands. Let us believe in
that.
In September 2024, following a lineup change, Pilod released
Double Digits, followed a few months later by the Christmas single
No Adjustments. These singles reflect Pilod's renewed ambition and
are proof that the band is working on its third album. Get on with
it!
In May 2025, Pilod released its new single Anticipate the Fall. In
a world full of turbulence, the track delivers a powerful message:
let go, ride the turbulence, and stay resilient. On August 31 2025
Pilod has launched the last single of the new album, Teacher of
Fools.
After nearly nine years, Pilod is finally releasing its third
album on October 5. It’s been a long wait, but it’s almost here."
Since 2024, Pilod and Jan Viggria (Barnowl Productions/The Guru
Guru) have formed a strong creative bond. Videographer Robbe Maes
has been adding a playful touch with fitting visuals since 2016.
After more than 10 years and countless concerts (including
highlights at Botanique and Trix), Pilod has built a strong live
reputation and extensive repertoire. Since 2024, Pilod has been
running at full speed again, launching and testing out their new
material live.
